general, has encouraged the development of modern replicas.
Mass marketing retailers created new products based on the memory for Mom-and-Pop
diners, service stations, and motels. Through these efforts, the past along Route
66 lives on in a new generation of T-shirts, coffee mugs, and trinkets that allude
to a simpler time.
